Groups FAQ

How long will I need therapy for?

It depends on your goals. Some people work with me for a few months, others prefer longer-term support. We review progress as we go — there’s no pressure and no fixed contracts.

What happens in the first full session?

Your first session is a focused 50 minutes where we explore what’s going on for you, what you want to change, and what working together will look like. You’ll leave with clarity and a plan for the next steps.

Do you just listen, or will you challenge me?

I don’t sit back and nod. I’ll challenge your thinking, offer honest feedback, and push you when it’s helpful — always respectfully and at a pace that works for you

How often should I come — weekly or fortnightly?

Most clients begin weekly because it builds momentum. Fortnightly works if you need a bit more space between sessions. We’ll figure out what fits your goals. Once we’re established, some clients — where appropriate — move to monthly check-ins or book sessions as and when they need them.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes — everything you share is confidential, except in rare situations where there is a risk of harm to you or someone else. I’ll always explain this clearly in our first session.
