JSN Therapy – Individual Therapy & Counselling

Individual therapy provides a private, one-to-one space to work through personal difficulties with the support of a qualified therapist. Sessions are focused on understanding patterns, making practical changes, and improving mental wellbeing.

Individual therapy can help with anxiety, overthinking, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, low mood, addiction, ADHD, and general emotional problems. Some clients come with a clear issue, while others feel stuck or unsure what is wrong but know something needs to change.

My approach to individual therapy is practical, direct, and focused on real change rather than just talking. Sessions are active and structured, and may involve reflection, challenge, and developing new ways of thinking or behaving. The aim is not only to understand problems, but to help you move forward.

Individual therapy sessions are available online or in person in East Sussex. Appointments are flexible, with clear pricing and no long waiting lists.

Groups FAQ

How long will I need therapy for?

It depends on your goals. Some people work with me for a few months, others prefer longer-term support. We review progress as we go — there’s no pressure and no fixed contracts.

What happens in the first full session?

Your first session is a focused 50 minutes where we explore what’s going on for you, what you want to change, and what working together will look like. You’ll leave with clarity and a plan for the next steps.

Do you just listen, or will you challenge me?

I don’t sit back and nod. I’ll challenge your thinking, offer honest feedback, and push you when it’s helpful — always respectfully and at a pace that works for you

How often should I come — weekly or fortnightly?

Most clients begin weekly because it builds momentum. Fortnightly works if you need a bit more space between sessions. We’ll figure out what fits your goals. Once we’re established, some clients — where appropriate — move to monthly check-ins or book sessions as and when they need them.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes — everything you share is confidential, except in rare situations where there is a risk of harm to you or someone else. I’ll always explain this clearly in our first session.
